
Vision Research
Dr. Tan conducted Doctoral scientific studies at Moorfields Eye Hospital and the Institute of Ophthalmology at University College London in the UK where he developed techniques to automate and customize recognition of progressive glaucoma. He went on to perform postdoctoral research in glaucoma cell biology and physiology at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia and University of Wisconsin. Then for a decade he directed a glaucoma basic research laboratory at the Doheny Eye Institute, USC and UCLA in Los Angeles, working on new ways to understand, diagnose and treat glaucoma. His more recent research has been performed with Sightgene, Inc in Northridge, CA. The lists below plot timelines, recognition and publications from these projects.
